self-organization

One of the key moments in NetHood's history has been the COMPARE project, a small open call project in the context of the EINS Network of Excellence, initiated by Panayotis Antoniadis and Ileana Apostol (at that time senior research at ETH Zurich).

The workplan consisted of the organized of three knowledge exchange workshops focusing on different types of tools for self-organization: complementary currencies (in Cagliari, Sardinia), cooperative housing (in Zurich, Switzerland), and urban movements (in Thessaloniki, Greece).

The flexibility allowed by such a small scale project and the selection of the group, allowed for in depth discussions between people that come from rather different backgrounds, which made the events memorable and created strong bonds between the participants.

Many of NetHood's projects and collaboration can be traced back to these three memorable events, whose main content and participants are described in the following reports:

Cagliari, Sardinia, April 2-4 2014.
Organizer: Sardex Ltd.

Thessaloniki Greece, October 8-12 2014.
